Here, you can write a brief introduction to your page. This engages your visitors and answers questions they may have about you.

of women & galaxies.

Desiree Amber Moore, a self-described Pop Surrealist, most notably paints mysterious women and galaxies using ink, acrylic, and watercolor. The graphic, almost pop-art style of her technique is a result of her background in graphic design. She employs a heavy outer line, inspired by Alphonse Mucha, and began to paint on wood in 2014 after discovering the work of Audrey Kawasaki. A key component in Desiree’s art is to let the grain of the wood speak for the subject’s skin, leaving it entirely unpainted.

Now 28, Desiree was born in Fort Collins, Colorado, and transplanted herself to Rochester, New York, at 17. She attended Finger Lakes Community College (FLCC), earning degrees in Fine Arts and Graphic Design, before enrolling at Nazareth College, where she received her bachelor’s in Visual Communication. In her final year at Nazareth, she took home Best in Illustration, Best in Graphic Design, and Best in Show, and had her acrylic-on-wood piece purchased by the judge. In 2017, she was invited for a group alumni show at Nazareth, and for a two-person gallery showing at FLCC. She is currently working on a new series entitled “Duality,” which she hopes to collect in a solo show.

Join her in discovering the mysteries of the universe.
